Opponents of the Queensland government's decision to close a children's hospital in Brisbane's north will rally today in a bid to have the decision reversed.
Premier Anna Bligh announced plans in 2009 to close the Royal Children's Hospital, promising a better children's hospital in the city's south.
But not all doctors supported the plan and it cost Labor votes in the last state election.
Dr Harry Smith will renew his campaign to reverse the decision today, protesting outside Royal Brisbane Hospital with Brisbane federal Liberal MP Teresa Gambaro.
He says closing the Royal Children's Hospital will mean sick babies are separated from their mothers and transported at increased risk to the Mater Hospital.
