A new report on school bullying says victims are affected for many years into adulthood and are often unable to form meaningful relationships.
The Wesley Mission report surveyed 12-hundred people aged 18 to 44 years.
It says while much attention is now given to cyber bullying old fashioned bullying at school is alive and has a major impact on adult life, with victims often unable to release anger, or releasing anger in an inappropriate way.
The survey also found victims of bullying often come from families with problems, trauma and abuse and bullying among girls has become more physical than it used to be.
